Would someone actually try this? and comment? I think it sounds interesting

Santa himself cannot resist this Santa’s Breakfast Recipe…then again, the big guy looks like he enjoys a hearty meal, this will not disappoint him!

What could make Christmas morning a little less stressful. Why not have breakfast prepared the night before so all you have to do is put it in the oven. Not only is this recipe a real time saver, it’s absolutely delicious. ENJOY!

What you need:

  • 16 slices white bread, crust removed
  • 16 slices back bacon
  • 16 slices old cheddar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 3 cups milk
  • Dash Tabasco sauce
  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • Crushed corn flakes.

What you do:

In a 9×13″ buttered glass dish, put 8 slices bread (add pieces to cover dish entirely) Cover bread with bacon, add cheese then cover with remaining bread slices to make a sandwich effect. Beat eggs, salt & pepper and add mustard, onion, green pepper, worcester sauce, milk and Tabasco. Pour over sandwiches. Cover and let stand in fridge overnight. In the morning, melt butter and pour over top. Cover with crushed cornflakes. Bake, uncovered for 1 hour at 350. Let sit 10 minutes before serving.

Zuppa di Mussels (clams) o Vongole al Pomodoro

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Mussel or Clam Zuppa (Special rich soup) with Tomatoes, Zuppa di Cozze o Vongole al Pomodoro: Classic, simple addictingly tasty dish. This shellfish recipe will work well as a first course, served with Bruschetta, a simple and delicious Italian garlic bread, or on a bed of fine pasta or linguine al dente.

Ingredients:

live hard-shelled clams or mussels or both (Up to 5 1/2 pounds if you have large pots and a VERY hot gas stove — up to 1.5 lbs for most stoves.)

1/2 cup olive oil

3 large cloves garlic (more the merrier to taste)

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper, optional

1/2 cup dry white wine (pale dry sherry works very well.)

Parsley sprig (fresh italian wide-leaf) (Optional for white sauce)

Optional (white sauce needs no tomatoes — both are great! 1/4 pound very ripe tomatoes (6 small Campari on-the-vine fresh tomatoes would be amazing!)

no salt.

(Start preparing a day ahead.)

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Preparation:
Soak shellfish overnight in salted water (in sea water if available, or see instructions below.).

Drain in a colander. Mince abundant parsley, cut the tomatoes, and grind some pepper in your peppermill.

Sliced garlic as finely as possible. Not minced, just paper thin fine slices.

Heat the olive oil in a heavy 3 quart saucepan or Dutch oven over very low heat. Add the garlic; cook slowly until the garlic just begins to turn very light brown, this should take about 10 minutes. 2. Add the crushed red pepper, if using, and remove from the heat. Let cool 5 minutes.

Return the pan to high heat; add the wine and boil 3 minutes.  Add the cleaned clams or mussels and cover tightly. Steam, shaking the pan occasionally, just until the shells open, about 2 minutes for the mussels, 6 minutes for the clams. 60 seconds before completion add tomatoes and parsley if desired, more red pepper or black pepper to taste. Spoon the shellfish and broth into shallow bowls and serve very hot.

Cook a minute or two more, and serve, with toasted bread or over pasta.

Note:
If one of the shellfish fails to open upon being cooked, do not eat it! It was already dead when it went into the pot, and eating it could make you quite sick.

Christmas Eve Dinner: Don’t drive and eat!

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

We eat a LOT of garlic every day. But on Christmas Eve, we go nuts. It’s good we all smell the same:) Learning about what’s below will not stop me from eating garlic, because the good news about eating garlic garlic greatly outweighs the bad. But I tested this and it’s true… Don’t play ping pong after eating a garlicy meal — you may lose:)

CG of the brain to see the truth .. it totally desynchronizes the brain and cause us to loose our psychic mind … yes our psychic mind, we are Human not slaves to the race of beings that control us … this doesn’t mean much to most …
Garlic is not only repulsive to any one that eats it for hours … but it makes us stupid slow and simple … this is hard for most people to grasp,  do the ECG and do the experiment yourselves … read this article on this and you will be amazed it does clean the blood but it also destroys the total  mind synchronization of the two hemispheres .. I was heart broken,  when I heard of this because I love the smell of garlic and onions … but oh well … once you find out they are a neuro poison then it makes al the sense in the world when you eat it … what happens to you ! … you smell awful and are totally repulsed by others . most are generally being nice not to tell you … YOU STINK .. stay your distance !
it is also the best organic insect killer, too, is there a reason why no bug will eat garlic or any of the onion family…because it kills them.
The reason garlic is so toxic, the sulphone hydroxyl ion penetrates the blood brain barrier, just like DMSO, and is a specific poison for higher life forms and brain cells. We discovered this much to our horror, when I was the world’s largest manufacturer of ethical EEG biofeedback equipment. We’d have people come back from lunch that looked clinically dead on the encephalograph, which we used to calibrate their progress. “Well, what happened?” ” Well, I went to an Italian restaurant and there was some garlic in my salad dressing!”

Santa Claus Needs a New PR Guy!

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Santa Claus Needs a New PR Guy! Christmas 2008, like so many Christmases past, has had its share of stress-induce rises in crime rates. Especially crimes that are related to the pressures of the times, and probably all in some way shape or form related to the economy. Santa Claus too was affected by the economy. Santa.net was my pet project since 1996 when I started it to keep my young son, battling a cold at the time, entertained. But it became habit forming. The letters to Santa Claus were first to make me realize that there was more to gain than invest with maintaining Santa.net. The letters, in and of themselves were enough to make the whole task worthwhile. Most years I didn’t even bother to try to offset the investment with some kind of income-generating plan. We never gave that a college try. One year I tried to keep my sister busy doing something so I let her handle the “Letters from Santa”. She had a great time. And this year we ran some Google Adsense Ads. That put a little back in the kitty, but the Santa Claus, Elf and Reindeer animations we do on Santa.net are labor intensive and a lot of people spend a lot of hours doing them… Add to that the programming and site maintenance and, if you know anything about what these things cost, you’ll understand that ours is a labor of love.

It really bothers me when I see a search for “Santa” turn up Christmas Party Shooting by Santa Claus, Santa Claus Molestation Letters, People run down in roller rinks, and anything you could possibly imagine that would effectively erase the spirit of the holiday for a web surfer with his children at his side. What makes one think that when someone does a search for “Santa” on Christmas Eve, he or she is looking to find a story about child molestation or Santa Claus shooting up a bunch of kids to share with his or her kids and family. Why is it that the sensationalist news media gets to push the Santa websites off the front page? Santa.net was very lucky, we were on page one right through Christmas Eve. But why in the name of well written and well intentioned algorithms would this be meant to happen. Is that the plan for Christmas? Some years the Grinch does his dirty work. But can’t we design an algorithm that offers the Grinch a little less help?

When it comes time for me to search for something important, Google is the only search engine that provides real meaningful results. I don’t want them to change, I just want to drop something into the suggestion box… And maybe a set of presets to tailor the search to different situations… For instance, one present for searching when web surfing with the kids, one for work-related, and you can “train it” by voting down or up good-relevant results and down objectionable or unrelated results. (Much like the spam filters work.) Just a few thoughts:):)
